The Rochari combines local charm, modern luxury and wallet-friendly rates. Here's my personal review of the hotel, along with some photos I've taken.

Honestly, the only real image I had of Greece before visiting was shaped by marathoning old movies. All I pictured was a sea of white houses, never-ending allies, and water that looked way too blue to be real. I might have also secretly hoped that Mykonos would be the kind of place where you meet a charming Greek guy who might carry you home after a night of dancing, just saying. But let’s face it, my first mission was finding a hotel where I could kick off my shoes, dip my feet in some water, and actually get some real sleep.
The Rochari wasn’t just a hotel, at least not for me. It felt like a home base for all my adventures, and a real peek into Greek culture. Sure, it calls itself a 4-star spot, but by the end of the week, it honestly felt like I was getting a 5-star experience, just without the wild price tag.
Location: Central Yet Peaceful

There’s that old saying about location being everything in real estate, and that totally applies here. The Rochari is tucked right on the hillside of Mykonos Town, so you get those jaw-dropping sea views, and you’re only a short stroll from the center. Even better, the hotel is surrounded by greenery, which makes it feel calm and a bit tucked away, even though you’re really close to the action.
If you’re like me and always wondering about noise, just know that those windows block out everything. I didn’t hear a peep from the clubs or traffic once I shut them.

You can walk to the old port in about ten minutes, which makes exploring on foot super easy. And there’s a wooden door in the back of the hotel that leads to a shortcut right into town. It made me feel like I had my own private passage, and I might have witnessed a couple of folks sneaking out early in the morning after a wild night out. No judgment;)
Rooms: Modern Comfort

My room had this perfect mix of classic Greek style and modern touches. It was clean, bright, and really well thought out, with just enough space for everything.
The bathroom felt pretty fancy, thanks to the Molton Brown products and all the extras, like shaving kits and even dental stuff. I got a bathrobe and slippers, which always makes me feel spoiled. The best part was the balcony. Most rooms, including mine, looked right out over the Aegean Sea. There’s nothing like waking up and stepping outside to that view. And the room had an electric kettle, so every morning started with a little cup of instant coffee on my balcony, where I also managed to get some writing done:)
There’s a whole menu of room styles, so whether you’re traveling solo, with a partner, or with kids, you’ll find something that fits. The options range from simple deluxe rooms up to pretty posh suites.
Breakfast: Endless Greek Flavors

Breakfast at the Rochari honestly deserves its own spotlight. You get a buffet plus menu items, so you can mix and match whatever your heart (or stomach) wants. I’m big on eggs, so I worked my way through scrambled, omelets, fried, even a white omelet at one point. You can pile on veggies, cheeses, or whatever protein you’re in the mood for. It’s honestly the best way to start the day.
And for my fellow coffee addicts, you’re covered. I tried pretty much every style on offer: espresso, cappuccino, macchiato, lattes, and even those icy Greek frappes. The barista and I got to be buddies by the end, mostly because I kept coming back for one more cup.

Day one, I told myself I’d eat healthy, so I picked an omelet, salad, and even a protein shake with blueberries. Day two, vacation mode kicked in and I let myself go for the pastries, crepes with honey, and a little bit of everything. That’s the thing about Greece, breakfast just feels like a treat, and the food is so good, you’ll want to linger over it on the terrace.
Pool & Spa: Relaxation With A View

If you’re coming to Mykonos for the parties, you’ll definitely get your fill, but I loved that the Rochari was also a place where you could chill out and just do nothing. There’s a pool with an unreal view, plus a wine bar and a menu full of fresh snacks. I kept finding excuses to order those fried cheese croquettes and veggie spring rolls, and there’s something about sipping a glass of wine by the pool that just feels like you’re doing vacation right.
The hotel has a little gym, but honestly, walking those hilly streets was workout enough for me. The pool area really shines at night, too, especially on Wednesdays and Saturdays when there’s live music. They played a bunch of throwback hits from the 80s and 90s, which totally set the mood.
One thing I didn’t expect to love so much was the spa. I tried the signature detox ritual and the Ancient Greek Massage, both from George, who honestly has magic hands. I’m convinced I left looking a little more refreshed. So even if you’re not a big spa person, make time for a treatment or two. You’ll thank yourself later.
Dining: Fresh Local Food Under The Stars

Dinner at the Rochari is a whole experience, especially if you eat outside on the terrace. My favorite was the truffle burger: juicy beef, rocket, sautéed mushrooms, truffle mayo, and parmesan. I also went for the salmon filet on couscous with a citrus-honey-mustard dressing that was so good I still think about it. There are healthy options, but honestly, I was all about the vacation eats and zero regrets.
Overall: Highly Recommended

The staff at the Rochari really make you feel like you belong. The owners are often around, and you get greeted like an old friend, not just another hotel guest. Everyone is full of advice and stories about the island, and they’re happy to help with anything you need. Coming from Orlando, I’m used to places where staff can be polite but a little distant. Here, it felt like I was staying with friends of the family.
So I didn’t end up falling for a Greek guy, but I absolutely fell in love with Mykonos, and the Rochari was a huge part of that. Booking was super easy, and the price felt like a steal for the quality you get. If you want a place that shows off everything wonderful about the island - views, food, relaxation, and people - this is it. You can even add on extras like a trainer, a shopping assistant, or yacht outings if you’re feeling fancy.
I honestly can’t wait to get back to Mykonos, and I already know where I’ll be staying next time.
